Opticomm is Australia’s largest privately-owned fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) network. It delivers ultra-fast, reliable internet directly to your home or business using fibre optic cables, rather than copper.

While the NBN is a government-owned network, Opticomm is a private provider that often services new estates, apartments, and business precincts. The main benefit is that Opticomm delivers a true fibre connection straight to your premises, offering greater reliability and consistent speeds.

Opticomm isn’t everywhere yet, but it’s expanding quickly. You’ll usually find it in new housing estates, apartment complexes, or business parks. You can check if your address is covered using our Broadband Checker tool.

Opticomm plans range from everyday browsing speeds right up to gigabit speeds, perfect for 4K streaming, online gaming, and business-grade workloads. Your exact options will depend on the plan you choose.

Opticomm connections use an ONT (Optical Network Terminal) installed at your property. You’ll still need a compatible modem/router to connect your devices. OneNet can supply you with a pre-configured router, or you can bring your own.

If your property is already Opticomm-ready, activation can be quick — usually within a few business days. If the fibre hasn’t been installed yet, additional lead time may apply. We’ll guide you through the process from start to finish.
